My name is Adrian Sherriff. I am a postgraduate music student at Monash University researching South Indian drumming.

I also work as a professional musician, primarily as a bass trombone player. The photograph you can see was taken at the Manly Jazz Festival in 1993 by Joe Glaysher.

My musical interests include, Western classical music, jazz, South Indian classical music, shakuhachi, Javanese gamelan and mbira(Central African thumb piano). I also have an interest in Tibetan and Vietnamese music. I have worked extensively in Australia and overseas mainly as a trombonist. At the Wangaratta Festival this year and at the Adelaide Festival next year, my arrangement of Karaikudi R. Mani's composition Vasantha Pravaham will be performed by the Australian Art Orchestra (including myself and featuring Karaikudi R. Mani). This was performed last year by the orchestra on a tour of India.
