Jeff and John agree - insubordination is out Is there really any need for any forms of protest or opposition when your leaders are quite capable of a bit of critical self-reflection? The Real Jeff spoke to John Laws on the issue of insubordination earlier this week. Here's a brief extract:
Jeff and John might both speak a lot of bullshit, but both of them have patches of critical self-reflection, which surely go along way to make up for the rest. As John and Jeff both know, a little frankness every once in a while about your own immorality and ignorance can be funny and even endearing. Try it yourself. Make your friends laugh while writing yourself a moral blank cheque! "You'll be amazed by what won't turn people off if you just lay it down straight," said Real Jeff, "and catching people off guard is an integral part of humour." "Every time I sink to new depths of depravity and I think I've been caught out, I make a little joke out of it. It helps to clear the air with people." Go on then Jeff - take it all the way. Repeat after us: "I'm totally corrupt down to my rotten black guts. And you idiots don't even know when you're being fucked over, so why should I care?" Ouch! But see - the guy's a riot!
