Tomorrow, tomorrow...

This is a poem that a dear friend of mine wrote for me some years ago.It perfectly explain my situation at the time and I still consider her as one of my best friend, though we are not physically close to each other anymore. But what the heck, distance is not an impairment for a beautiful friendship!

Vola

piccola inerme

Esci dal tuo nido

fragile creatura,

Batti le tue ali implumi

nel vento impetuoso:

giungerai a lidi

lontani,

supererai le prove piu' dure,

ma un giorno,

spogliata del tuo mistero,

tornerai da noi,

mutata in regale

acquila

dal lucente piumaggio.

{ by Annalisa Bassani '93 }

Now, it would be very inappropriate for me to translate that poem, since I think it works as it is in its original language, but I suppose, for the sake of good understanding, that I should give the chance to those who do not know Italian, to appreciate it as well.

Fly away

small dear,

leave your safe nest

fragile creature,

Beat your feathered wings

against impetuous winds:

you will reach shores

far away from here,

you will overcome the harderst of trials,

but one day,

freed of your mistery,

you will come back to us,

changed into royal

eagle

of a brilliant appearance

I don't even pretend to have done a good job at translating, but I tried my best.
