Here, I intend to locate all those accidents that happened in my life
which had some meaning to me. Not all of them will be shocking or
amusing, but the common denominator they all share is that in a way or
another, they made me think and they still make me think.
The first day of Highschool was very exciting to me: there I was,
finally a bit older than the previous year. Unfortunately for me, I went
to the same school my brothers attended. The teacher for Arts ( a subject
in which technical drawing and history of arts was taught ) was the first
I met that day. She was a very sweet lady, although not particularly
bright. She saw me and the first thing she asked me was :'Are you your
brother's sister?'. I admit, I was so surprised by her intelligent question
that I stared at her, rather stupidly, for a few minutes, not knowing
what to answer...
When I go grocery shopping, I hate passing by those stalls where
underdressed ladies with too much make-up try to make you taste some
'new, wonderful and absolutely delicious' product. Naturally it is a bit
annoying to have someone running after you for the whole supermarket
trying to make you taste something you are allergic to ( or do not like
anyway ), but what really irritates me, is that I am not even given a
chance to say 'No, thanks'. It must be something in me, but it seems that
as soon as they see me, they already turn to another customer, and do not
even consider me for some tasting. It really disappoint me, not being
able to refuse an offer I had no intention of taking up anyway.
How I love to be asked information. I know that 99.9% of the
times, I do not know the directions they ask for, but I like the idea
that they asked me: it just means that they expect me to be able to talk
to them in a common language, at least.
Linked to the above mentioned happening, is that I really hate it
when I come into an Asian shop to buy something, or just browse around. I
do not know any Asian language at all, and when I ask some information
from the shop assistants, they invariably look at me as if I came
straight from Mars or thereabouts.
