Why do you hate the French so much?

I don't. No really, I don't.

Then why did you say all those nasty things about the French?

I didn't. I may have made fun of the language a little, but I have nothing against the French people in general.

What have you got against the French language then?

Nothing as such. I am not particularly impressed by the idea that the French language is innately superior and am quite prepared to make fun of those who hold this view. I do however concede that French is a means by which to access one of the great cultures of the world (although my reading has been less Moliere and Hugo than Goscinny and Uderzo. My main interest in French culture is sixteenth century accompanied vocal music).

Do you know that for most of the population of France frogs and snails are not a major part of the diet?

Yes. I just said that it was a perception held by others.

Why did you say Italy is full of perverts?

I didn't say it was full of perverts. I just said that it had perverts in it (like any other country in the world) and that some of them visited Paris. I'm not in a position to moralise here given what perverts from Australia do when they go overseas.
