Prime Island

These were rendered by creating heightfields
from the 2D graphs. I rotated the images
around the x axis and used the color values as a height field so that
the green and yellow areas become peaks .. (see Visualizing
Primes in 3D). The type of terrain
texture (grass, dirt, trees) is mostly related to the topography also
(e.g. no grass on really steep bits). Since everything about the terrain
is derived from the primes, I call it Prime Island. I have also made
a beautiful 1200 frame flythrough animation of Prime Island by scripting
the location of the virtual camera. The packages that apply the textures
& atmosphere were not written by me.
