Although it is not our policy to provide club/group accounts on yoyo, clubs and societies at Monash University may still make use of yoyo's facilities. Currently this includes space for WWW (World Wide Web) pages and an email alias where required. Please note - this means that a club cannot get an account as such on yoyo. Instead they can get space for WWW pages and/or an email alias to use.

Clubs/societies at Monash may obtain a directory in which they may put club pages. This directory (/home/www/public/groups/CLUB_NAME/) will have the URL http://yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au/groups/CLUB_NAME/, where CLUB_NAME is the name of the club (or an acronym of it). The club members who are responsible for this area will require a personal account of their own on Yoyo. Please do not have a personal account created with the name of your club. If you do this, when your yoyo account is removed on completion of your studies at Monash, your club will lose the "access" they had via your account.

Some yoyo users have pages for their clubs/societies in their personal web directory. These users are encouraged to obtain a directory as mentioned above. If another person takes over the pages, the URL will then not have to change. Thus the pages of a club/society will not be tied to a particular yoyo user. Many clubs/societies already have web pages.

If you have been elected to the committee of a club and need to take over as webmaster for that club, you will need to first obtain a yoyo account for yourself. Once you have it, send an email to webmaster@yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au letting us know your yoyo username, name of the club (preferably including the URL of the web pages) and position on the committee.

In some cases, a club/society will require an email address. This is created in the form of an email alias. Any email sent to this address will be "forwarded" to the specified club/society members (usually committee members). These members need not have an account on yoyo; all they need is an email address.

Once the alias is created, you can advertise the email address for the club/society as alias@yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au, where alias is your email alias.

If you require web space for your club/society, please send email to webmaster@yoyo.cc.monash.edu.au providing the following information.

• The name of the club/society.
• The name you wish to have for the directory (the CLUB_NAME mentioned above).
• The yoyo usernames of those who will be responsible for the web pages.

• The email addresses of those who will be responsible for the web pages.
