Treasurer's Report

I’d like to first start by saying how much I’ve enjoyed chasing the colour of money and seeing the faces of players wince every time I ask for cash to be coughed up.

Secondly, I believe last year involved the most co-operative group of players to pay their fees on time, or not too far in arrears. A special mention to Greg Schneiders, Michael Luber and Slammer as an example of members who paid fully in advance.  As a result we had a substantially lower amount of outstanding debt leading into this season than any other I’ve known, approximately $2,500 in total.

There is now a quantum shift away from paying 6 months in arrears to paying on time. The club can no longer afford to carry people who are not financial.  Although our debt recovery has improved, the club can still not afford to carry on without timely collection of fees.  A number of club creditors are still owed money. There is also noticeable increase in fees this year, which was unavoidable due to the ever, increasing battle to cover cost. The committee is open to players seeking to reduce their fees via fundraising.  So please feel free to come forward with any fundraising activities you have in mind.

Otherwise enjoy the season ahead and don’t forget, the people who love collecting your fees, also love you.
