Welcome back to another year of Monash Volleyball. We’re
getting into it straight away this year, with all teams already training,
and the Warrnambool tournament on the up coming Labour Day weekend. With 5
teams attending the tournament, it should be another great weekend on both
the sporting and social fronts.
Again we have a big year ahead. In 2003,
Monash
Volleyball moved into the big leagues with their top ladies and men’s side
competing in the Australian Volleyball league and did the club proud with
their efforts. The club is now the largest club competing in the state
league with 10 teams, three of which were new junior sides. The club had
many teams reach finals in 2002.

Overall – 2002 was a very busy year! |
The club continues to focus on player and coach development.
2002 saw the club working to become an Active Australia provider club. This
will help to provide the club with great direction for the next three years
and beyond.
The current committee is made up of full time working
professionals, whereas, past committee folk were made up of
student/volleyball junkies looking to get a high from hitting quick balls
that were clearly set beyond their reach.
The hands of the club now depend on this small band of merry
folk. However, the club more than ever needs non-
committee members to free up the committee to complete core
committee processes. Ask yourself this question (“what have you ever done
for the club, other than bag Keg guts for his Keg guts” ed!), what
has the volleyball club done for you and what have you done for the
volleyball club??
See you during the season BaZ.
