ABOUT US... Mission Statement “Monash University Volleyball Club (MUVC) is committed to promote, encourage and support the development of volleyball at Monash University and in the regions around the University” Background Monash University Volleyball Club (MUVC) was established in 1966, and since then has grown to one of Monash University’s largest and most successful sporting clubs, with 140 direct members and over 200 associated juniors through school programs instituted by the club, specifically Mazenod College and Glen Waverley Secondary College. Major Programs Offered by MUVC- Monash Representative Teams This programme consists of teams that represent Monash nationally and internationally. In 2002 Monash competed in the Australian Volleyball League, the Australian University Games, and hosting an invitational tournament against Nittaidai University from Japan. - Monash’s Victorian Volleyball League Program Monash University was the most successful club in the Victorian Volleyball League in 2001, with all 6 teams finishing in the top 4. In 2002 MUVC had a total of 10 teams involved in VVL. - Monash Junior Representative Teams This programme consists of teams that represent Monash nationally and internationally at junior events. In 2003 this will include the Victorian Junior State League and National Schools Cup. - Social Competition Teams Monash University has men's and women's teams entered in the EMVA district volleyball competition, which is open to students and anyone affiliated with the university who is interested in playing with the club. |
