History
Great interest was expressed after lunch time games on the oval at clayton. Sports and Rec. was approached with the idea of the formation of a touch football club. Soon after the meeting in early 1994 the Monash University Touch Club was formed. Men's, women's and mixed teams have been entered in local summer and winter competition since, and teams have also participated in University and State Championships. A men's team from Monash competed in the 1994 Australian University Games in Wollongong. Both men's and women's teams ventured to Darwin for the 1995 A.U.G. 1996 saw the vikings travel to Canberra the men's and womens teams competed with varing degrees of sucess.
La Trobe are hosting the games this year. This will see the vikings defending there own teritory. Yes, games are to be held at Albert Park. Will the mens team have that unbeatable home ground advantage. Will the cold weather slow down the northen states, I hope so! Unfortunatly the womens team missed out on qualifying this year and will no doubt be down on the sidelines chearing the viking men home. How unbeatable will the mens team be, we just dont know. Anyway come down to Albert Park During Intervarsity and watch the vikings make history.
