This week:
TURKEYS
- With key keeper Buchanan missing, Turkey's paid a heafty transfer fee to get their former defender back in the nets to keep. The first half was dominated early by the shooting on goal by Francesco and Menzies, but with them all being at the keeper, there was no reward for dominance in the mid field. Francesco finally got one past the keeper in the second half, and AC dribbled past two defenders to slot the second behind the near post. Good leading by goalie to get the defence organised, and able listening by Min, Andreas and Menzies provided the best defence we've seen all season. The only score came on yet another goalie wandering, but he'll get used to it soon enough. Big road trip coming ups, so Turkey's are in a good position. Goals by AC, FX.
Final Score: MEGA 2 - 1 SERJ AND THE REJECTS
MEGA - One word: Wow. 3-0 down at the half. Atvars back in goal for second half directing traffic, and just saving a piss-easy cross, and one wild shot from 2/3 court to spark the revival of the season. Fitzgerald took a ping in open space on the forward left pocket, befuddling a keeper, who in the first half managed to save three shots infront of a scrambelling Atvars. Then Leontini slotted an easy cross from Krishna wrong-footing the keeper. But then it was all Mitrevski. With a deft run up the right wing, and a great wind-up, the keeper wasn't able to pick up the flight in time to stop the tying goal. Then the winner, with a long pass from Krishna, Mitrevski danced around two defenders before slotting the winner, with 3 minutes left. Last gasp attempts to score a tie were masterfully delt with by the now lone defender Fitzgerald, with Atvars continually barking orders, and Timberlake coming in to help clear, MEGA stongly keeped them at bay for the memorable win. 2 and 2 on the road, is a great position for the home series. Goals by AF, JTL, TM, TM.
Final Score: MEGA 4 - 3 THE MEMBERS

Last Week:
MEGA - With no goalie (Mok), MEGA paid a healthy transfer to get Turkey defender Karlis Atvars in the gates. Too bad he wasn't in water, coz he let a doozie through his legs, and gave away a few penalties for roaming out of his square. With a 3-1 halftime lead, MEGA somehow let the fact that their opposition swapped the entire team at half time, phase their game! Terrible mishaps in defence allowed them to roam through gaps and slot easy shots past the fill-in keeper. A lesson was learnt this week! Goals by TM, JTL, and MK.
Final Score: MEGA 3 - 5 MONJSS
TURKEYS - Bye.

Week2
TURKEYS - One word: Allovertheplace. No defence for the first half, and it took a spirited request by Francesco to get a man sitting back in the key, to stop the through pass. Karlis filled that position with gusto, and for a while there they stopped scoring. But with Andy not being allowed to get close enough to fire accurately, and with Griffo missing from the foul line off a cross-bar rebound, it was just not going to be the Turkey's day. Fouras managed to nearly collect the door, but made no such inroads on the opposition. In any case, not too unexpected for a first game, but need to improve to get a score. Hopes don't look good, with a Bye week coming up.
Final Score: MEGA 0 - 10 ONE TOUCHABLES
MEGA - Too slow to learn that the physicality of Savas's would be their main winner, and it was almost a goalless first half, before Tom quietly ducked between two defenders, and with a long pass to him on the right forward wing, danced the ball to his control, before drilling it into the near side of the goal. MIRACULOUS! Leontini slotted a nice easy one in from the top of the square, when an opening up of the play by Krishna and Mitrevski left Savas's team floundering.  Mitrevski also had a hand to play in the last goal, when realising that MEGA needed to be physical, challenged their captain, held possession, pushed off for space, before crossing for an easy Krishna slot. Some players believe they were happy with the score - They have the skill (more than the Turkeys), but just need a coach, to get them PLAYING LIKE BERSERKERS!!!!! Great play from Krishna in defence (shoot more man!), strong character from Mitrevski-only player taking no shit, Fitzgerald working out the wall of steel on the tall guy shut down his shooting leg in the second half, and Leontini with the check of the day - too bad he was on the receiving end! Goals by TM, JTL, MK.
Final Score: MEGA 3 - 8 SAVAS's

Week1:
TURKEYS - Didn't know the game was on. We might be rescheduled. Till then, will start 0-1
MEGA - Two scorching deep goals in the first quarter by Leontini left the Soiled Nuts reeling - One from the deep left corner dribbled through the goalie's legs, and the other from conjested play infornt of goal. Then came the play of the game, with Mitrevski's steal in the defencive back court, when one Soiled Nut attempted a pass to another, only to be picked off by Mitrevski, who took it all the way to the other end, drew the defence off their line, ran across the top of the goal square, and when all defending players were left behind, slotted the cross-body shot from the top right of the square into the top left corner of the goal. One more goal cam from Lee, toe-poking in from a fast counter on the short left post, just over the goalie's shoulder. Their only goal came off a dubious first-half penalty when the evereddy Fitzgerald took one step into the goalie box trying to cover a rare offencive Soiled Nuts drive. Goals by JTL, JTL, TM, ML.
Final score: MEGA 4 - 1 SOILED NUTS
