MEG Minutes

MEG Minutes are notes taken in MEG meetings, then emailed out to members of the mailing list. So now, as well as the receiving minutes via email, i'll be putting the minutes up here as quickly and as regularly as possible. The MEG Minutes are handy for people who either missed a meeting or can't make it to the meetings, as they detail things discussed and actions etc outlined in the meetings. The minutes from the last MEG meeting will be up on here before being archieved (anyone who wants previous minutes feel free to ask).

*Enviro. Officer next year- candidates will need to be chosen within the next month *proposal (onw hich MEG will decide) -key issue is whether Env Officer is apid, currently not becasue not generally elected -proposal; have paid position (elcted) with collective to direct EO, whether thats to co-incide with MEG time is unsure. -MEG needs to endorse proposal for paid , elected position be appointed early next year b/c too late for MSA elections - are ther dangers with this proposal? ie in 2003 bi-election (no quorum needed) eg people interested in env may run... -NB other MSA commitees are elected, but some operate less formally; Env Collective wouldn’t be elected, would be open. -advantage of 2003 by-election is to understand political situation in MSA, eg threats to env. position.
