Monash Borneo Student Society (MBSS) or better known as Borneo Club was established 7 years ago (1991) with a bunch of dedicated people.

Starting off with a 5-person committee and just twenty of members or so. One of the 1st bunch of committee still in Monash, is now the assistant of the accounting lecturer, Themin (not really sure about the spelling) from Pontianak, Kalimantan, Indonesia.

(An Idea of Borneo Culture)

Where on earth is Borneo? Well, Borneo is an ISLAND (not a country, not a state) named by the british during the time it was occuppied by British back in 1950s until the 1963. This is an unique island. Why would I say that? Well, this island is SHARED between three countries in four uniquely divided regions. They are;

Sarawak (East Malaysia), Sabah (East Malaysia), Brunei (A Country) and Kalimantan (A Part of Indonesia). Refer to the map (A Picture tells more than a thousand words).

Races: Chinese, Malay, Indians (from India) and Natives.
Language: Mandarin (widely used), English (widely used), Dialets
  (Foochow, Hokkien, Hakkar..etc), Malay and Natives

As the club had just been established, not many activities were planned. However, this situation is no longer true as the year goes by. A lot of activities have been planned and until today.
