People

Fiction Writers is run by a committe of 6 people, of which the most important are the President, Secretary and Treasurer. Non-committee positions like that of the magazine editor and the webmaster also exist. These positions are changed each year and new members are encouraged to nominate for them. The committee is re-elected at an AGM each year, whilst the non-committee members are straight volunteers. If you are interested in one of these positions, talk to the person involved. It doesn't matter if you're just a first year student.

Webmaster: Verity, verity@lavalink.com.au

Maintains the web-site, keeping details up to date, possibly overhauling it periodically. This requires extensive knowledge of HTML, and possibly Javascript. It is the webmaster's reponsibility to keep in communication with the other committee members and keep the news/calender sections up to date. These should be updated every week if possible. If the forum mediator cannot answer a query, then the webmaster may do this. As people change, and other events occur, the webmaster has to modify the relevant parts of the site. If you can't update events at least every couple of weeks, then don't bother doing this.

Forum Moderator: James Gorman, jamatgo@hotmail.com

The task of the Forum Moderator is to keep an eye on the forum, respond to queries, ensure no one is disruptive on the forum, and maintain it. This requires some knowledge of HTML and possibly Javascript. Reponsibilities involve checking the forum at least weekly, removing old messages, deleting offensive messages, and maintaining the functioning of the page.
