Trip Information.
Here are a few notes for you to prepare for your weekend and ensure you enjoy it to the fullest. We will leave Clayton on Friday evening and return on Sunday afternoon.

Travel.
Meet in the NottingHill Pub on Friday at 7 for dinner in the Bistro or
8pm for the departure. If you have your own transport and are prepared to drive, please notify Aaron Romero (0402-321-787) when you pay your deposit. If you live a long way from campus and want to travel independently, please contact a committee member. We will be travelling back on Sunday evening.

What to Bring.
You will need to wear some comfortable clothing for Saturday and Sunday. A change of clothes. Training shoes, tracksuit pants, teeshirts and sweatshirt and jacket would be a good choice, if the weather is hot, bring some shorts. Avoid clothes like tight jeans that may restrict your movement. Don't wear any boots with hooks. Sunscreen and insect repellent are recommended. You will need a sleeping bag, pillow, wash bag, torch and towel. Lots of warm bedding is recommended. There are showers on site. There is a kiosk for breakfast and lunch, but you can bring some snack food and drink if you like. We will go to the pub in the town or have a BBQ for dinner on Saturday evening. Bring your student ID deposit receipt and this information sheet.

Payment.
You must pay the deposit by the due date. The remainder can be paid when you arrive at the drop zone (DZ)

Photography.
You can have your jump filmed, but this is at your own expense. It costs around $80.

Alcohol and Drugs.
Skydiving and drugs or alcohol do not mix. If you are found or suspected of taking drugs or alcohol during parachuting operations the Club reserves the right to cancel your membership and you will not be allowed to jump. When you have completed your jump and do not plan to jump again you may drink away from parachuting operations. You should not be jumping if you have been drinking less than eight hours before. If you take prescription drugs which you think may affect your ability to jump, please discuss this with your pharmacist or instructor.

Aircraft Safety and drop zone etiquette.
You will be on an airfield with frequent aircraft movements. Spinning propellers are almost invisible and highly dangerous. Pilots have limited vision from the cockpit. If you are in an area where there is aircraft taxiing give way to the aircraft and move away. Smoking is not permitted within 15m of aircraft, fuel stocks, parachute equipment and in the buildings. Keep away from aircraft unless accompanied by an instructor, or the pilot. Keep off the runway. Do not enter the landing area unless you have permission from an instructor. When crossing the runway, look for aircraft before crossing briskly and give way to aircraft. Do not interfere with parachute equipment. When walking across the packing areas tread carefully and do not walk on the equipment. Keep out of the video equipment and parachute equipment rooms.

Glasses and contact lenses.
You can wear either, but contacts are probably more comfortable and can be worn under standard goggles. If you wear glasses, bring a cord to tie them on.

Health injury and disabilities.
When you arrive at the drop zone you will answer some basic medical questions. If you are concerned about previous injuries you may want to discuss it with your doctor. If you are over 40, a medical is normally required.

Cameras and Spectators.
If you want to invite friends and family to witness your jump, tell them to visit on Sunday morning. Jumping starts at 9 am. You can take photos on the ground but will not be able to take a camera with you in the aircraft or during your jump. Spectators need to obey the rules on aircraft safety and etiquette. Dogs are not permitted and children must be kept under supervision.

Directions to the Drop Zone.
From Melbourne take the Hume hwy north and turn-off at the Shepparton exit, past Seymour. Nagambie is approximately a 15 min drive along the Goulburn Valley Hwy. Drive through Nagambie township until just before the 100 Km speed limit sign. Turn left as the road veers right. Head for "KIRWANS BRIDGE". Follow the bitumen road, go over the wooden bridge and at the next T junction turn left, for approximately 500M. The drop zone is on the right signed "Victorian Parachute Centre". Drive slowly up the dirt track and park near the main hanger.
