Beginners Course

A beginners course is run each year at the beginning of semester 1. It consists of a series of structured group lessons with the club coach, Chris Jones, designed to transform even the most incompetent hack into a smooth and graceful fencer.

We recommend this course for anyone who has never fenced, as it provides a chance for those of you who've never held a foil before to learn the basics of good attack and defence. Learning in a group is a lot of fun, and it's a great way to get to know people.

New Fencers are of course welcome to join any time during the year, however timing your arrival to coincide with a course is a very good idea. If there is sufficient interest we run a second course at the start of semester 2.
