Download the summary information pack, which also includes
a poster you can use to advertise in your club - although you may have to copy
it and edit a little if your printer can't cope with the margins.
Changes! Please Note!
If you don't find the answers somewhere on this site, e-mail your
questions to: rhyannon@connexus.net.au.
Q: Where is it going to be held? A: Monash University Clayton Campus. It will be in the Sports and Recreation building (#1). (Mel:70, F11). It's on your right as you come up the drive from the main entrance, once inside you should be able to hear us, or ask at the information desk for help.
Q: What can we do about accommodation? A: You can find a list of local motels here. We are also providing a billeting service. If you are an interstate fencer in need of billeting, look here. If you are a Victorian fencer and can offer a billet, go here. Q: How much does it cost? A: $10 an event for individual and $24 for teams. Prices for social events will be $10 for Pizza on Friday night,$2 for the Movie Night, and $35 for the Presentation Dinner on Sunday. Q: What events will be held? A: Individual foil, sabre and epee will definitely be held. If there are less than 6 people for an event then mens and womens will be combined in a mixed competition. This seems unlikely, we didn't have to cancel or merge any events last year.
There will also be team events in whatever weapons we have enough teams for. A minimum of 4 teams is required.Q: Am I eligible? A: Have you fenced for less than 2 years? Q: I would like to fence teams, but the other novices in my club are too soft to come. What can I do? A: Obviously, you can beat the rest of your club's novices to death, but this won't enable you to fence teams, will it? Never fear! For this Tournament we are allowing composite teams to take part. If you RSVP, we can try and get you in touch with other fencers who might like to join you. Fencers in composite teams still accumulate points for their club! Q: I've got eight arms - can I still fence? A: Yes, but you must be very careful not to cover target area. Q: Actually, I would really like a kebab. Can I have a kebab? A: There are many fine vendors of kebabs in Melbourne where you might purchase the kebab of your choice.
