The GAUNIX Security group FAQ

Who is in the security group?

There are presently eleven members in the security group.
Like all GAUNIX members, they are volunteers from the Monash University community.

If you receive a message from somebody claiming to be in the security group, it is in your own interest to check that their name is on this list. If you're not sure, please email the security group and make sure.

Please read "How to contact the security group" before sending email to any of these people.

New people are recruited into the security team when the need arises. Typically, they are already members of other GAUNIX groups, and have a good working knowledge of Unix, as well as strong communication skills. Although a knowledge of security issues is assumed, it should be remembered that GAUNIX exists so that people can learn, and that is part of the security group's function.
